Robert A. ==Education and career==
Huggins earned his BA in Physics from Amherst College, and went on to obtain an MS and Sc.D. in Metallurgy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he also served as an instructor.〔 He joined the Stanford faculty in 1954.
